#EndSARS: Despite video evidence, Nigerian Army denies shooting at protesters

Despite video evidence, the Nigerian Army has denied shooting protesters at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday night.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that hours after the declaration of a 24-hour curfew in the state, military personnel opened fire on protesters at Lekki tollgate.

Multiple videos captured by citizens show the moment soldiers opened fire on the protesters, and the clips show terrified citizens crouching and screaming as gunshots rented the air.

It was learnt that the streetlights were put off and the CCTV cameras removed before the security agents stormed the venue.

During the incident, some protesters were allegedly killed and injured after the Military opened fire on them.

Irked by this evil act, Nigerians rose and challenged the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, and called on the international bodies to intervene.

But Reacting, the Army in a statement on its Twitter handle, said its soldiers were not at the scene.

It also denied seizing corpses of victims of the attack

It tweeted, ”Fake news, no soldiers were at the scene.”
