Three men have been arraigned by the police before a Magistrate Court for allegedly diverting 3,000 cartons of noodles valued at N8.85 million.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the suspects were arraigned at the weekend before Chief Magistrate Shomade of Randle Court One on five counts of conspiracy, obtaining by false pretences, theft, forgery and alteration of document.
According to the police, the defendants committed the offence last month at Apapa by conniving with others now at large to divert a container carrying the goods which belonged to Olam Sanyo Foods Ltd.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
They were admitted to bail in the sum of N3m each with two sureties in like sum and the court adjourned the case till August 10.
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Nigerian Police Force, in Cross River have allegedly shot a noodles seller while trying to disperse protesting naked women.
A noodles seller in Igwo community of Cross River has been hospitalized after she was hit by a stray bullet on Tuesday night, April 14, in Cross River state.
The woman was allegedly shot at by men of the Mopol 75 Squad of the Nigerian Police Force, Cross River Command.
