The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in Dubai, light’s up for five (5) minutes in honor of the basketball legend, Kobe Bryant, who died in an helicopter crash, along with his daughter, Giana.

The honor was arranged by Sir Ahmed Bin Sulaiyman, who’s the executive chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Center, on Sunday, February 2nd.

Late Kobe Bryant and Sir Ahmed were old time buddies, and they had been seen in places together, including in 2013, When Kobe was invited to Dubai for the very first time by Sir Ahmed Bin.

The beautiful light up had the word “Rest in peace” written at the bottom of an adorable picture of Kobe and his daughter.

Fans have also taken to their Twitter handles to admire the tribute and the advancement of Dubai to beat record and expectations.

May their souls continue to rest in peace.
